After our short stay in Narita we hopped onto another plane and flew into Bangkok. It was late in the night the humidity and temperate was substantially higher than Japan. Our spirits were high and smiles were worn across our faces with pride.

The hazes of last nights’ regrets were worn with pride as we wandered around the slums of Koh Samui. Our mission was to find a local scooter shop that rented cheap scooters without asking very many questions. Only one of us had ever ridden a scooter while another had rode dirt bikes. It was not Gorilla or Samscratch we worried about but everyone else.

Touching down on the island of Koh Samui was full of excitement. Our short adventure in Bangkok really laid down a welcome mat of high expectations. The airport was small, outdoor and consisted of a tiny shack that had the airport staff inside. There was no airport security and getting our bags was a breeze.

Phoenix USA
Living in Canada has its perks however it also has some draw back. One large drawback is that winter can be long, cold and dark. Luckily, our annual snow bunny’s trip is just around the corner.

YYC to NRT is a 13 plus hour flight. Flights are boring, uncomfortable and seemingly never ending. However, when you spend most of the night before the flight packing and making sure nothing is forgotten, you’re ready for a little break or at least most people would.
